Colonia
Retreat in Colonia del

Estudio de Yoga Iyengar La Chacra, Colonia.
This retreat entails five unforgettable days of yoga in La Chacra, a
beautiful farm 10 miles away from the quaint, historic town of
Colonia, Uruguay. Colonia is a 45 minute ferry-ride from downtown
Buenos Aires, across the Rio de la Plata (River Plate). The studio
is located in the midst of the Uruguayan countryside, built in a
recycled winery from the 1800īs. The setting is simple, rural, and
natural. Silence, clean, pure air, and the sky of the Southern
hemisphere bursting with millions of stars in the summer night
provide a perfect framework for a yoga workshop. The farm overlooks
the river, and is at walking distance from the riverside beaches,
has a clay tennis court, and a swimming pool made from an old farm
water tank.
Weather in Uruguay and Argentina in February is very hot, as it is
the last half of the summer. Temperature during the day is in the
high 80īs, and during the night it cools down somewhat to mid 60īs.
Five hours of yoga a day and lunch at the farm are included
(organic, vegetarian). Lodging in Colonia is not included.
Transportation from Colonia to the farm for the classes will be
provided.
Daily schedule:
9:00a.m. - 12:00p.m. - Asana class
12:30p.m. - Lunch at the farm
Afternoon Free*
7:30p.m. - 9:30p.m. - Asana class

bicycle or moped rentals can be arranged for in Colonia. Tours of
the historic areas and ruins of Colona (circa 1600). Hiking, Water
sports, Tennis.

five-day retreat in Colonia: US$500
(February 24-28)
